I discovered No Man's Sky a few years ago when it was in development.  I was amazed with what they were promising, infinite universe, so on and so forth.  When the game finally launched in 2016, it was mediocre at best.  The framework was there, but a lot was missing.  Fast forward to August 2017 and it is an entire new game.  The developers added ground vehicles,  base building, survival mode and a host of other improvements.
